Eating Right, Ready, Set, Go...... with the right attatude and Spice


Well, here we go. We are starting today. Healthy meals, here we come. As I mentioned before, cooking with lots of spices and herbs will make any dish taste better..... Pasta with Sausage and Peppers: That's "What's for Dinner"

This recipe is very tasty: spicy sausage, sauteed vegetables and Parmesan cheese. Use the sausage mixture as a sandwich, omelet or baked potato filling.
Ingredients
cooking spray
2 medium Red or Yellow pepper(s), cut into thin strips
1 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, sliced
1 cup of mushroom, sliced
1 pound of turkey sausage, spicy-Italian flavor

1/4 tsp dried Mint

1/4 tsp dried Parsley
1/4 tsp dried oregano, crushed
1/4 tsp table salt
1/8 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 can of diced tomatoes
3 cups cooked whole wheat pasta
5 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Spray a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and set pan over medium-high heat. Add Red and Yellow pepper, garlic, onion and mushrooms; cook while stirring frequently, about 8 minutes. Start cooking the Pasta.
Add turkey to skillet and brown, stirring occasionally, breaking it up with a wooden spoon while it cooks, around 8 minutes. Add oregano, Mint, Parsley, salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes; stir in tomatoes. Simmer for 7 minutes.
Dish pasta ; top with meat mixture and sprinkle with cheese.

Also don't forget to exercise daily. You should never depend on diet alone to lose weight.

Who Am I and why Am I doing this Blog?


Well hello everyone. I am a stay home dad with three lovely children. I cook and clean ( it took me a long time to get to this point).
A little history about me; I am 45 years old and Iranian (yes, a middle eastern man who cooks and cleans). I moved to the United States many moons ago and have lived in California, Texas and now Virginia. I met my wife in L.A back in 1986 and we have been married for 20 years now. I will tell you about my adventures of leaving the Islamic Iran and how I made it to America in a later date. I don't want to put you to sleep on my first blog.
Any way, my son was born 21 days ago and many of you may know, it is time to lose the baby fat........ So we are cooking and eating healthy and would like to share some ideas with you. If you have a good recipe and want to share it with me and others, that would be great. I could use a lot of help.
Diet food is nasty and one way to make a delicious and tasty food that is good for you, is to use fresh spices and herbs. So I started to look in to spices and decided to start my own spice business. I don't make much money. It is a hobby and at the same time I can get fresh spices for fraction of the price and pass the savings to others.
